Home to Tillicum Village, this special 8-mile cruise away from the activity of the Seattle Central Waterfront offers visitors the chance to explore some of our first Nation’s culture, hike, beachcomb or camp out in the old growth forest along the sandy saltwater beach. The island’s campsites offer a wonderful, safe environment for camping and hiking with children. Blake Island is home to deer, mink, otters, bald eagles, kingfishers and great blue herons. Hours: Daily tours: May 1–September 31; Weekend tours: October–November and March-April Closed: December–February. May be closed major U.S. holidays. By car: Going South on I-5: Take Columbia/James Street exit (#165A). Take first right on Columbia Street. Go to bottom of hill, staying in right lane. Turn right under the Alaskan Way viaduct (the elevated freeway). Go 4 1/2 blocks and Pier 55 will be on the left. Going North on I-5: Take Madison Street exit. Turn left on Madison Street. Go to bottom of hill. Turn right under the Alaskan Way viaduct (the elevated freeway). Pier 55 will be on the left. Going West on I-90: Take I-5 North to the Madison Street exit. Turn left on Madison Street. Go to bottom of hill. Turn right under the Alaskan Way viaduct (the elevated freeway). Pier 55 will be on the left.
