The Experience Music Project is located on the Seattle Center Campus in Seattle Washington near the base of the Seattle Space Needle.  The EMP is an interactive museum that tells the story of the creative process in American pop music.  The unique building design, hands-on exhibits, and state-of-the-art technology produce a one-of-a-kind experience that is truly the first of its kind in the world.

Hours: Tuesday–Sunday, 10:00 am–5:30 pm

Closed: Mondays (except holidays), Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. All holidays are subject to change without notice.

Take Metro: Routes: 3, 4, 16, 82 to Denny Way and Mercer Street
8, 19, 24, 33 to Broad Street and First Avenue North
1, 2, 8,13, 15, 18, 81 to Thomas Street and Mercer Street

  • I thought this was an ok place to get out of the rain for an hour. It does seem to have interest amoung those who like to perform music - various hands on and sound rooms.
