The Marine Heritage Center at the south end of Lake Union is currently a shipyard for the restoration and viewing of four historic ships, however, plans are underway for a great deal more in the future.   On the second Friday of each month, there's a free Chantey Sing from 8 to 10pm.  Check the website for the concert series schedule.

Directions to the Marine Heritage Center:
Take the Mercer Street/Seattle Center Exit #167.  At Fairview Street (the light/intersection at the foot of the exit ramp), go right one block to Valley Street.
At Valley Street turn left.  Immediately move to the far right lane.  Drive 1 block to Terry Ave. N (just past the green park area before you reach the light at Westlake) and turn right as though you're going to the 'Naval Reserve' building.  Northwest Seaport will be on your right between the green park area and the 'Naval Reserve' building.  A small parking lot is located off Valley Street by the green park area, and a large parking lot is located off Terry Ave. N.
