Rainier, and the Olympic and Cascade Mountain ranges. Plus, it's the closest view in town of Safeco Field, the Colman Ferry Terminal, and Pioneer Square. Driving Directions: From Interstate 5 (heading North or South) exit at James Street. Head West (downhill) to Second Avenue. Turn left - Smith Tower is on the corner of Second and Yesler. Walking: The Smith Tower is a short 7-minute walk from downtown. As you face the Pike Place Market, turn left on First or Second Avenue. Walk 8 blocks to Yesler Way. We are on the corner of Yesler and Second Avenue. Second Avenue provides a nice view of some of Seattle's finest architecture, while First Avenue contains more shops and galleries.
