Learn how small crafts have played their part in maritime history.  The Center for Wooden Boats is a hands on maritime museum.  With help from master craftsmen, you can learn to steambend an oak frame, cast an oarlock, sew a canvas ditty bag, splice a line or caulk a seam.

Closed: Christmas Day and Thanksgiving Day. All holidays are subject to change without notice.

CWB is at  the extreme south end of Lake Union between Daniel's Broiler and the Naval Reserve Center about 5 minutes driving time north of downtown.

Directions:

From I-5:
Take Exit 167 (Mercer Street) 
Turn right at the bottom of the ramp 
Turn left at the light (in front of Daniel's Broiler) 
CWB is on the right just past Daniel's Broiler
 Park in the lot, walk through the Pavilion and down the ramp.

 From U. District: 
45th St. west to Roosevelt 
Left on Roosevelt 
Follow Roosevelt southbound across the University Bridge (where it becomes Eastlake) 
Right at the fork onto Fairview 
CWB is on the right just past Daniel's Broiler, park in the lot, walk through the Pavilion and down the ramp.

 From Downtown: 
North on Westlake to Valley St. (one block past Mercer) 
Right on Valley 
Go through the light in front of Daniel's Broiler and turn left immediately 
Double back along the frontage road in front of Daniel's Broiler
CWB is just west of Daniel\'s Broiler, park in the lot, walk through the Pavilion and down the ramp.
